Confident、Independent、Discipline-Review of 'Gran Torino'

This is a film directed and starred by Eastwood in 2008. The style of the film is somewhat different from his previous films, but the spirit conveyed is the same, that is, confidence, reliance, and discipline.

The protagonist played by Eastwood is not used to sissies, in fact, he just doesn't like people who are not confident. His conversations with some old friends actually reflect that he is only willing to associate with confident people.

Eastwood was 78 years old when the film was filmed, and the character in the film emphasized his hands-on ability, with a variety of tools, able to repair houses and various electrical appliances, and did not want to rely on his son or go to nursing homes to maintain his independence. In the film, he also trains the neighbor's boy to learn to be self-reliant and began to support himself.

After the gangsters committed various atrocities against his neighbors in the film, the Korean War veteran played by Eastwood did not impulsively immediately use violence to control violence, but controlled his emotions, stopped the neighbor boy from sacrificing in vain, and thought of a suitable action plan, showing the self-discipline of the soldiers.

The film explores the issue of immigration in the United States. As an immigrant country, the United States has ethnic groups from different parts of the world, and it is normal for cultural customs to be different. As long as we respect each other and help each other, in fact, most ethnic groups can live in harmony. Every ethnic group may have some bad people, and the entire ethnic group cannot be discriminated against because of this.
